The European & American View sets were produced by an unknown publisher during the 1870’s and 1880’s. The views issued included extensive coverage of United States and Foreign Scenery. As a rule they were poor quality, pirate views by photographers such as E. & H. T. Anthony, John P. Soule, G. W. Wilson, Jonathan Good and B. W. Kilburn. Many of these views still bear the primary negative numbers put down by their original photographers.
In the case of the Yellowstone views, all seem to be the same style, and most look to be F. Jay Haynes photographs. At present less than 10 Yellowstone images are known, however there are some title variations indicating multiple printings.
