The Co-Operative View Company was a St. Paul, Minnesota publishing company that issued stereoviews from the 1890’s to about 1910. They were quite prolific in the late stereoview period, competing directly with the Keystone View Company and Underwood and Underwood. Their numbers reach into the 7,000’s, and the views, like Keystone, are on gray, curved mounts. Scenic views were their specialty with subjects such as Idaho, Utah, New York, the San Francisco Earthquake, mining views, animals, and genre. Most photos are credited to R. E. Steele, with a few to W.S. Smith.
Their Yellowstone coverage is particularly noteworthy. The views were of interesting subject matter. The numbering is continuous from #7219-7255. Within that set, they issued a subset with parenthesis numbering. It appears to go from 1-33, but may go slightly higher. Minor variations in styles would indicate multiple printings of these views.
