Montgomery Ward & Company issued a wide variety of both photo and lithograph stereoviews under their company imprint shortly after the turn of the century. They released up to 20 series during their production run. Images used were from such notable photographers as E. L. Clements, Benjamin Pike, T. W. Ingersoll and William H. Rau. It is not clear whether Montgomery Ward purchased the negatives directly from these photographers, or had those outfits produce the views for them.

The two known Yellowstone views by Montgomery Ward & Co. appear to have been selected through William H. Rau and his company at the time, Griffith & Griffith. Bothe views were released by Griffith under their imprint as well.
