WORLD SERIES
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The
World Series was a lithograph stereoview series of which
there is little record, although the views are still quite
common today. The company seems to have been affiliated directly
or indirectly with
H. C. White. All Yellowstone views seen
by the World Series are credited to White on the obverse. A
rarer style of the World Series issues are labeled "The North
American World Series," and are listed as being published in
Philadelphia. Who the publisher was is unknown. Three different
Yellowstone photos are known at this time.
5. Wonderful Terraces, Yellowstone National Park.
The most common World Series view is this
image of terraces at Mammoth. It is titled "World Series" on
both sides.
12. The Grand Falls Of The Yellowstone, Yellowstone Park..
A less common view is this one showing
Lower Falls. It is credited to "The North American World
Series," although the pattern of the credit design remains
the same as the view above.
217 Cleopatra Terrace, Yellowstone Park.
The least common viewtype is this image
of Cleopatra Terrace. It is labeled as a "Photochrome Stereo
View" in large print and only mentions this as a World Series
view as an afterthought in small print.
